A sixty year old Korean man was entered the hospital complaining, of intermittent epigastric distress of 3 years duration. There were no respiratory symptoms such as cough, sputum expectoration, and difficulty of breath, nor chest pain. He had smoked one package of cigalettes in a day. Past history revealed the .episode of operation for inguinal hernea about 6 years ago.
Laboratory studies including hematology, blood chemistry and sputum examination showed non specific.
Upper gastrointestinal series showed non specific. Routine examination of chest (P-A) showed a solitary round nodulary density measured 3 by 3.5 cm. in diameter in the right upper lung field.
Primary squamous cell carcinoma of the lung was proved by operation.
There was no evidence of metastasis to the regional lymphnodes.
